Validity and reliability are two key indicators in determining the quality of psychological assessment tools. Validity reflects how well an instrument measures the intended construct, while reliability refers to the consistency of measurement results. Based on a review of several scientific journals, common approaches include exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, internal consistency testing, and expert judgment validation. The review findings indicate that instruments developed through rigorous validity and reliability testing can enhance counseling effectiveness, provide more accurate diagnoses, and improve the quality of professional services. Therefore, it is essential for practitioners and researchers in guidance and counseling to continually evaluate and update the instruments they use.
2025-06-27T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Mazidah: Journal Of Educational Research https://mazidah.kjii.org/index.php/i/article/view/14 Motivation Theory in Education: Influence, Impact, and Application in the Classroom 2025-05-28T16:01:32+00:00 Devita Paramesti devitaparamesti@student.uns.ac.id Aqela Naura Zavisa aqelanaura.zavisa@student.uns.ac.id
Learning motivation is a crucial factor that influences students' success in the learning process. This research aims to identify the influencing factors and their impact on academic achievement. The method used in this research is literature study, which collects and analyzes data, including scientific journals and related reference books. The research results show that internal learning motivation includes one's own interest, learning goals, and self-confidence, while external factors include rewards and praise, the school environment, and educators' teaching methods. Apart from that, it was also found that a positive learning environment and social support from educators and students play an important role in maintaining students' learning motivation. With these findings, a holistic approach is recommended in increasing learning motivation, to encourage better academic achievement.
2025-06-27T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Mazidah: Journal Of Educational Research https://mazidah.kjii.org/index.php/i/article/view/8 Application of Puzzle Learning Media for Elementary School Children in Science Learning on the Metamorphosis of Frogs 2025-05-28T16:06:02+00:00 Jesicha Nais jesichanais1@gmail.com Nurmaelinda nurmaelinda@gmail.com Tina Sholikha tinasholikha@gmail.com Rina Almaidah rinaalmaidah@gmail.com Prety Nurfadhilah pretynurfadilah@gmail.com
Science (IPA) is a crucial subject in elementary schools, encompassing natural phenomena, thinking, and problem-solving. However, students often find science difficult, abstract, and irrelevant, primarily due to unengaging teaching methods and a lack of interactive media. Recognizing this challenge, an educational initiative in Temiyang Village, Kroya District, implemented the "Biokids Hassle-Free Frog Metamorphosis Tutoring Program with Children in the Temiyang Village Environment." This program aims to increase elementary school students' understanding and interest in frog metamorphosis through the use of innovative learning media. The approach includes the use of educational videos, animations, images, and the creation of puzzles depicting the frog metamorphosis cycle from drawing paper and Styrofoam board. It also encourages group problem-solving. It is hoped that this media implementation will help students understand biology concepts more easily and enjoyably, and motivate their active participation in learning.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Mazidah: Journal Of Educational Research https://mazidah.kjii.org/index.php/i/article/view/9 Cultivating Interest in Reading and Writing Through Short Stories Using Picture Story Books in Elementary School Students in Temiyang Village, Kroya District, Indramayu Regency 2025-05-28T16:03:33+00:00 Nurmaelinda maelindanur@gmail.com Jesicha nais jesichanais1@gmail.com
This study aims to improve the reading and writing interests of elementary school students in Temiyang Village through a community service program. Based on observations, students' reading abilities and interests at Temiyang 2 Public Elementary School are still low, students are easily bored with conventional learning methods, lack of parental attention, and the dominance of online games are the main problems. Referring to the 2006 KTSP, improving communication skills in Indonesian, both oral and written, and fostering an appreciation for literature are important goals. Reading, as one of the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing), has been identified as having a significant influence on the development of students' potential, reasoning ability, concentration, and achievement. This program uses lecture, discussion, and practice methods, utilizing digital learning media such as storybooks and PowerPoint applications. Storybooks, according to Rothlein and Meinbach (1991), are effective in improving language skills, developing memory, introducing new things, and arousing children's interest in reading. The program targets students in grades 1-6 at Temiyang 2 Public Elementary School. The activity was carried out on July 15, 2024. Data collection was carried out through pretests and posttests, as well as interviews. Data analysis using the N-Gain test showed a significant increase in students' comprehension of the reading material. The average N-Gain score of 0.82 (81.74%) indicated a high level of program effectiveness. Despite obstacles, such as some students still having difficulty reading and requiring more time, the enthusiasm of the fourth-grade students contributed to the smooth running of the program. The program resulted in published reports and an increase in students' imagination and creativity in reading by approximately 80%. Students also experienced enjoyment and a lack of boredom while learning Indonesian. This program is expected to serve as a foundation for schools and teachers to continue developing literacy programs that are engaging and relevant to students' needs.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Mazidah: Journal Of Educational Research https://mazidah.kjii.org/index.php/i/article/view/16 The Role of Early Childhood Education in Shaping Children's Character for the Future (Analysis of Character Formation at Sekar Pelangi Kencana PAUD, Paoman Village, Indramayu) 2025-07-06T18:16:59+00:00 Tri Maulana Yusuf lanaidm13@gmail.com
Early Childhood Education (PAUD) plays a central role in shaping children's character through a structured learning process from an early age. This study aims to examine how early childhood education can contribute to the formation of children's character, moral values, and social behavior for the future. The method used was a literature review, reviewing various scientific sources related to PAUD and character education, and conducting direct observations, interviews, and documentation at the PAUDs studied. The results indicate that integrated character education in PAUD can improve children's social skills, communication, empathy, and cooperation, contributing to character development. Synergy between family, school, and the community is essential for optimal character formation. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening character education from an early age as a foundation for developing a generation with strong character and global competitiveness in the future.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Mazidah: Journal Of Educational Research
